On the 24 – 28 October 2016, the premier national Geoscience congress, known as Réunion des Sciences de la Terre (RST; the French Earth Sciences Conference) will be held in Caen.
The 2016 edition will include 12 different themes, covering every aspect of the Geosciences.
The GEOTREF project will be represented there by five Ph.D. students who will show their work by either oral or poster presentations, in two different sessions.
In the session 8.3 called “Geothermal energy, hydrothermalism and industrial minerals” (on the afternoon of 24 October) three posters and one talk will be presented:
- A joint poster presentation prepared by Alexiane Favier (Géoazur), Lucie Legendre (UAG), Jeanne Mercier de Lépinay (IPGS), Viven Navelot (Géoressources) and Gildas Beauchamps (GEC-UCP) under the name of “Characterisation of a geothermal reservoir located in the Lesser Antilles Arc. Examples of the Guadeloupe archipelago, of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, as part of the GEOTREF project”.
- A poster presentation by Alexiane Favier showing the “Structural and mineralogical characteristics of a paleo-geothermal system: example of Terre-de-Haut (Les Saintes archipelago, Guadeloupe).”
- A poster presentation by Gildas Beauchamps regarding the “Petrographical and spatial characterization of hydrothermal alteration in Basse-Terre area (Guadeloupe)”
- A talk of Vivien Navelot about “Multi-scale structural study of Terre-de-Haut (Les Saintes archipelago)”.
Moreover, Lucie Legendre will present her results concerning the “Tectonic of the ancient arc of the northern Lesser Antilles at Eocene and Oligocene – Structural and kinematics analysis of Saint-Barthélemy island.” in the session 3.6 focusing on the subduction zones geodynamic, on the morning of 24 October.
